Guide 04 · Professions

A profession you won't regret, for each class

One profession pick per class for WoW: Forever.

Our one recommendation

Find your class below and pick that profession. Whatever your class, also level Cooking.

Each pick below ties a profession to something Blizzard has said about your class. Cooking is the one everybody gets something from: crafted food can now give a small experience bonus plus stat boosts, and Cooks can build bigger campfires.

What's new for professions (from Blizzard)

  • Over 600 new recipes, spread across professions and levels. [source]
  • Camping: the Cooking Fire becomes a Basic Campfire. Nearby players can each add one crafted object (up to three at a basic fire), and each profession gives its own buff. [source]
  • You learn your first campsite objects at profession skill 20. Better ones come from Blueprint recipes that drop from dungeon bosses. [source]
  • Cooks can learn upgraded Campfires that hold 5 or 10 objects. [source]
  • Campsite buffs are versions of class buffs and don't stack with them. [source]
  • Mages also get Comprehension, a minor tradeskill for reading scrolls dropped in the world. [source]
Unverified Not confirmed:
  • How many main professions you can have at once in Forever. (In original WoW it was two. We haven't seen Blizzard confirm this for Forever.)
  • That Blacksmiths still make Sharpening Stones and Weightstones in Forever. They did in original WoW, but the posts we checked don't say.
  • Exact buff sizes for campsite objects and food. Blizzard hasn't published numbers.
